A few minutes ago I checked our local newspaper's online version to catch up on the news of the day, and learned that the brakes of a semi carrying 39,000 pounds of cheese caught on fire and caused the vehicle to crash on I-10 this evening on the Florida side of the Florida-Alabama line.
The driver was able to decouple his tractor from the trailer. There were no injuries.
At last report, traffic was blocked and front-end loaders were scooping burned cheese from the surface of the interstate highway.
Ah, Harry Chapin, where are you when we need you most? I know you could have found a song in here somewhere.
