Shape Shifting

Leafy Shadows move on the scored concrete floor

Dark butterflies find their way

Steel birds rumble the valley

The hawk is always hungry.

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?  (from Landslide, written by songwriter Stevie Nicks)

  1. Sorry about that!

I have such a big smile on my face when I read those lyrics. When I was in college, I wrote them out on some artwork I had done and gave them to Mr. Pom – of course, he wasn’t Mr. Pom or my mister, yet. Love Fleetwood Mac!

    1. One of the fun things about popular music is the generational nature of it. The “elevator music” when I was a teenager was hot stuff in its original incarnation in smoky clubs and dance halls. And now, eek, our generation’s hot stuff is today’s elevator music. (But not for us. Never for us!)
